IYIN-EKITI UNVEILS OFFICIAL ICONIC WEBSITE TO CELEBRATE IYIN DAY 2024

The Chairman of Iyin-Ekiti Day 2024 Organizing Committee has announced the launch of the town’s official website, coinciding with this year’s celebration.

The website showcases Iyin-Ekiti’s rich culture, tourism attractions, investment opportunities, historical information, indigenous registration, and other valuable resources.

Developed by WebPro Company, owned by Ayodeji Oluwadare, an indigene of Oketoro quarter and son of the late John Olu Oluwadare (formerly Ogundare), the Technical Team was led by Asiwaju Olubunmi Oluwadare with Peculiar Ekiran and a representative of Oluyin Media Team.
Pastor Remi Obaparusi emphasized that this initial launch marks the beginning of ongoing development, with additional features and information to be added soon.

This project is proudly sponsored by the John Oluwadare Foundation (JOF), a testament to the foundation’s commitment to community development and progress.

According to Pastor Remi Obaparusi, who will officially present the website to Kabiyesi Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti, Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye III, on Friday, November 1st, 2024:
“This website will revolutionize Iyin-Ekiti’s development and connectivity. It will:

  • Foster global unity among Iyin-Ekiti indigenes
  • Enhance cultural preservation and documentation
  • Promote tourism and economic growth
  • Provide a centralized platform for information sharing
  • Facilitate data collection and analysis for informed decision-making
  • Bridge the gap between diaspora and homeland

The website will also serve as a robust data coalition platform, connecting Iyin-Ekiti indigenes worldwide, and providing valuable insights for community development initiatives.

The 2024 version of the annual Iyin Day celebration, dubbed Iyin Day 2024, will be celebrated in Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State, from Monday, October 28th to Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, according to Pastor Remi Obaparusi, Chairman of the Central Organising Committee.

”On behalf of His Royal Majesty, Oluyin of Iyin, Oba Adeniyi Adeola Ajakaiye, the Oluyin-in-Council, and the entire sons and daughters of Iyin, the Central Organizing Committee for Iyin Day 2024 is delighted to announce the commencement of the highly-anticipated Iyin Day 2024 celebration,” Pastor Obaparusi said in a statement on Saturday.

”The Iyin Kingdom is proud to celebrate its unity in diversity, resilience, and ongoing progressive development,” he added.

He said the celebration, which has the theme “Celebration of Unity and Development,” will showcase the rich cultural heritage, tourism potential and natural endowments of Iyin Ekiti.

Highlights of the activities include interdenominational service, medical outreach, environmental sanitation, essay writing, scholarship/bursary award, commissioning of projects, indoor games competitions, health and fitness walk, empowerment/distribution of palliatives, Iyin Day inter-school quiz finals, football competition, country race and awards.

The seven-day celebration will also feature the conferment of honorary chieftaincy titles, Iyin Day carnival and the launch of the N750 Million Development Fund.
