Operatives of the Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command has rescued a 17 year old girl Odunayo Babalola who was trafficked to the Northern part of the country enroute Libya.
When contacted, her father Babalola Temitope 57, revealed that she had left home about 3 years ago and her whereabout was unknown since then.He was full of praise for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for their assistance aimed at rescuing the child which they eventually did.
The State Commandant, Toma Matthew Enya pslc, admonished parents to take good care of their children and to be wary of promises that cannot be fulfilled. According to him, Nigeria is green enough for us to develop rather than looking for greener pastures that are full of blood and hardships.
The State Commandant assisted the family by paying their transportation fare back to their destination and urged them to be good ambassadors of their town, State and country by telling others that free launch does not exist anywhere, staying home when you are not sure of your destination is the best answer.
The victim was subsequently handed over to her father through the Gender unit of the Corps.
