Protest in Abakaliki after patient relatives gang up to beat nurse mercilessly. She lost one teeth in the incident.
This happened at FATHA along Abakaliki – Enugu expressway, as the unhappy nurses took to the street to show their feelings.
A nurse at the hospital told reporters that they are protesting because of how they are being treated sometimes by relatives of some patients.
“This morning, a relative of a patient flogged our member mercilessly and removed one of her teeths. We are not happy and that’s why we are protesting”, the nurse said.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to ascertain why the relative of the patients flogged the nurse proved abortive.
Efforts to also speak with government officials also yield positive results.
