Soludo made it clear that violators of the state’s noise pollution regulations would face a fine of N500,000.

In his words;

“If you want to preach the word of God, you go to your church. You are causing pollution. You cannot come to a marketplace and begin to disturb everybody here.

“If you want to preach the word of God, you go to church. The person who wants to come to your church will come to your church. But you don’t force everybody. In a marketplace, people have come to trade. It is not a church. So you don’t do that.

“They would have arrested you for disobeying the law. You don’t come out and take a space and start preaching. It is noisy. You are polluting the place. It is illegal. Everybody has freedom of worship. If you want to worship, we protect everybody, but you don’t go to the middle of the market where people are coming to trade and turn it into a church. Otherwise, we will charge you; they will be charging you for this space. You will pay N500,000 because we cannot allow this.”

Hadi Singz: Is not the preaching either in the church nor in the market, but doing according to the word of God we have be preaching and hearing.

Jenny Kide: I wish this will be replicated in Enugu. 5:am, this man had woken everybody on the street up with his loudest microphone in this terrible heat. Children were crying because they couldn’t sleep and the entire neighborhood was uncomfortable
