The Defence Headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday 7th of November 2024, declared 9 persons wanted for terrorism, violent extremism against Nigeria in the North East.
Insecurity is one of the too issues in Nigeria today, as security agents battle the menace across the northern and southern region.
DHQ Declares 9 Persons Wanted For Terrorism in North East Nigeria
Those who have been declared wanted are; ABU KHADIJAH, ABDURRAHMA, DADI GUMBA (ABU MUHAMME, ABU YUSUF, MUSA WA’A, USMAN KANIN SHEHU, IBRAHIM SUYEKA, BA SULHU, IDRIS TAKLAKSE
The Director, Defence Media Operations Major General Edward Buba, confirmed the names and pictures of the people declared wanted in a banner.
The wanted persons, terrorists/ bandits and insurgents commanders are from the North-East zone.
Further revelation is that the Lakurawas are affiliates of terrorists from Republics of Mali and Niger. They started infiltrating into northern parts of Sokoto and Kebbi states from the Niger and Mali areas, particularly after the coup in Niger Republic.
Meanwhile, some terrorist leaders, commanders and combatants have indicated to surrender. “We are opening a surrendering corridor for that purpose”, disclosed the Defence Headquarters.
We keep praying the Nigeria army can defeat those causing trouble and stalling the development of northern Nigeria.
Just few days back, President Bola Tinubu on reiterated his administration’s commitment to tackling all forms of banditry, kidnapping, and other related criminality in the country. He said;
“I want to assure all Nigerians that the government is fully committed to combat and defeat all acts of terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities in Nigeria.
“However, security is a collective responsibility. I urge all Nigerians to join hands with the government by giving them relevant information to security agents on suspicious persons, miscreants and other criminal elements”
