In a significant move to address financial obligations to state retirees, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the release of an additional N1 billion for gratuities.

This decision comes shortly after the Governor had earlier this year disbursed N3.5 billion in gratuity cheques, demonstrating a continued commitment to alleviating the financial burdens of pensioners.

Governor Oyebanji’s latest financial directive also includes the payment of two months of pension arrears to local government pensioners, further underscoring his administration’s focus on the welfare of retirees.

In his statement, Governor Oyebanji has called on state workers to maintain a high level of service delivery, reassuring them of his government’s dedication to their welfare and the prompt payment of all dues.
