Viral Omolayo Hostel is Not Our Property – EKSU Management Reacts to Dilapidated State of Largest Hostel in Africa

OMOLAYO HOSTEL IS NOT EKSU PROPERTY
The attention of the Management of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti has been drawn to a tiktok video circulating online, showing the sorry state of the Omolayo hostel located outside the university campus.
While the university Management is not happy with the dilapidated and abandoned state of the hostel, we wish to state categorically that the hostel, located outside the campus, is not the property of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti.
No doubt, the university Management appreciates the pholantropic gesture of the Late Dr. Lawrence Omolayo, who built the hostel, yet cannot meddle in the family affairs of the highly respected Omolayo dynasty when it has not been asked to do so.
However, the Management of Ekiti State University is willing to collaborate with the family in undertaking the repairs of the building, if it so desires, since the hostel is part of the enduring legacies of Late Dr Omolayo that students of the university would benefit from.
