OTSD visits New EKSU VC, move for transformative leadership

Earlier today, the Strategy Team from the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD) visited the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele. The team was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor and the university’s top management team.

Professor Ayodele, a graduate of the university’s Education Management programme, has risen through the ranks over the past three decades, serving in various capacities within the same university system. He was recently appointed as the 9th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Ekundayo congratulated the Vice-Chancellor and spoke extensively about the initiatives the OTSD has championed in order to ensure effective and efficient service delivery across Ekiti State. He made valuable suggestions on transformative leadership, emphasizing the importance of a mindshift to ensure quality service delivery within the university system. Dr. John Ekundayo also highlighted that EKSU, blessed with vast expanse of land, could leverage innovative agricultural practices to not only sustain the university but also contribute to achieving food security in tandem with the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s (BAO) administration proactive agribusiness drive.

In his response, the elated Vice-Chancellor welcomed the team, expressing that he had closely followed the activities of the OTSD. He commended the leadership for striking a balance between political, social, and economic transformation, ensuring that all stakeholders remain focused on delivering quality service across the state. In his words, the Vice-Chancellor remarked, β€œYou have successfully ensured that everyone is working.” He reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with the state government in various areas, specifically OTSD, in driving change, enhancing efficient and effective service delivery and ensuring value for money.

The Vice-Chancellor also expressed his appreciation to the Governor of Ekiti State for his numerous contributions to the institution, including the increase in subvention to the university and the appointment of a formidable Chancellor who has greatly supported research and agricultural ventures at the university. β€œWe shall not disappoint the Governor,” he said, affirming his resolve to foster transformative leadership within the university, in partnership with the Ekiti State Government through the OTSD.

Members of the OTSD team, led by Engr. (Dr.) John Moyo Ekundayo, Special Adviser/Director-General of the OTSD, included Mr. Biyi Fashoyin, Technical Advisor (Change Management), Adetunji Aribasoye, Senior Special Assistant (Monitoring and Evaluation); Dr. Lateef Oluwafemi Buhari, Senior Special Assistant (Special Services); Toba Fatunla, Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State on Service Delivery; Mr. Olusola Salami, Director of Administration and Supplies; Mr. Omoniyi Adekunle, Director of Finance and Accounts; Mr. B.D. Fanilola, Under Secretary; and Mrs. Olanike Akinleye, Chief Internal Auditor.
