The Ekiti State Government has urged barbers and others engaged in local business to be tax- compliant.
Hon. Ayodeji Adarabierin, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tax and Revenue Matters, gave the advice when he met with the leadership of the Barbers Association in Ado Ekiti.
During the interactive meeting, Hon. Adarabierin stressed the importance of paying taxes, linking it directly to the state’s growth.
The interaction is aimed at strengthening government’s relationship with local businesses in the state.
Adarabierin highlighted the visible progress made under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, noting that these achievements are possible due to tax revenues and prudent management.
“Paying taxes is more than just an obligation; it’s how we build a better Ekiti, the development we have witnessed under Governor Oyebanji shows how essential tax compliance is,” Hon. Adarabierin said.
Responding, the Barbers Association requested a review of the tax assessments given to its members but affirmed their commitment to meeting their tax responsibilities.
In a gesture of support, the Barbers Association also pledged their loyalty to Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
“We appreciate the positive changes brought by this government, we are committed to supporting the state’s development,” the Chairman of the Barbers Association said.
The meeting is a demonstration of the government’s effort to listen to local businesses and ensure that everyone plays a role in the growth of Ekiti.
