Nichume Siwundla Early Life and Education
Nichume Siwundla was born and raised in East London, in the Eastern Cape. She was born in the year 1990.
After Grade 12 the late vocalist studied International Relations at Stellenbosch University. But she was more passionate about taking care of people at the time, so she got a job as an ophthalmic technician.
“But when the music started booming, I had to choose between that and singing. But I truly hope to heal people with my music as I did with my hands.”

Nichume Siwundla has three siblings, Qhamani, Buhle, and Nisi, and revealed that being the second child made her disciplined so she can be a good example to them. She said “My family still can’t believe that singi singing is my career. But they are very supportive supp and believe in me.”
Her boyfriend of nine years was also supportive of her journey. as a vocalist. She said:
“He is my very first boyfriend and he understands that music is not just a hobby, but a gift.”
Nichume Siwundla career
Nichume Siwundla started singing at the age of 17, she started her career in the band at high school. In the year 2011, Nichume met Mobi Dixon through a mutual friend, DJ Anda, and they did their first collaboration on Far Away. Aw “Mobi and I had a musical co connection the first time we met, and we made our first song in 2011. But it didn’t do as well as we had hope hoped. The big break came when Mobi released Bhutiza in 2017.
Her recent release is a dance song ” Thobela” pays homage to two of her favourite SA female musicians – Lebo Mathosa and Brenda Fassie – who paved the way for artists such as her. She recently released her second single, Thobela, is making waves, circulating the country, her career was moving to the right direction and she was becoming the next big thing. When she produced the track her aim was to motivate everyone to celebrate the humble beginnings in their lives that lead to prominence. She always wanted others to be happy, not despondent.
